Incorporated in 1972, Chiu Technical Corporation has been a private label manufacturer of fiberoptic illumination systems to manufacturers that range from Nikon, Olympus and Machida to Reichart and Fujinon. While the company has always marketed a certain percentage of its light source production under the Chiu label, it began marketing its full line in the Chiu brand in 1989. This included its adjustable eight-point ring light and its R-90M Munchkin ring light. The company operates in a 30,000-square-foot facility in Kings Park, N.Y.
