HealthSouth--a haven of TRUE CARING -AND- EFFECTIVE rehabilitation! We can say that because prior to our father being transferred to Healthsouth, he had a many-day stay at a local hospital. Our father and our family members were worn down and worn out after many days of trying to get the most basic help at the other hospital--watching our father wait and wait on needed medication and help, frustration at the lack of communication, trying to limit requests for help to not aggravate the staff, standing day after day at the nurse's station hoping to be acknowledged just to get water or ice, dreading to call a 2nd or 3rd time for help because we felt intruding on the staff.

And then there was HealthSouth! Or as we like to call it...HELPSOUTH!

Just after entering his room, the caring began. The difference proved to be from night to day! In his many-day stay at HealthSouth, there was not one time staff was anything less than caring! So ready to help! And the help from their staff was not contrived or for show...it was quickly evident that the staff at HealthSouth was made up of GENUINELY CARING STAFF! Even walking in the hall, staff who didn't know our father would acknowledge him and show kind care.

I detailed the contrast and could go on and on--BECAUSE--there is so little genuine care at the larger hospitals that prospective patients and their families neeeed to know there is a place like HealthSouth available for rehabilitiation. There may be newer facilities, but HealthSouth not only has the staff you want to take care of your loved one, their regimen is EFFECTIVE as well. Our father's stay was much shorter than anticipated, and he could not have made that kind of progress without a well-managed facility and expertly trained staff. The big hospital system says "Bringing loving care to healthcare." With one or two exceptions, we didn't see it, hear it or feel it. It's all at HealthSouth!

When you know there is a need to push for ability to move again, these folks will be diligent!
