St. John's Episcopal Church has been offering God's love to the community since January 8, 1922. Founded in the burgeoning community of Kirkland, St. John's offers worship, study, fellowship and service to enrich the body, soul and spirit. The present building consists of the Nave ( the church itself ), parish hall with classrooms and a portable like structure that houses the parish office. The people of St. John's include folks from all walks of life who gather as an offering of love to God and to the world. Rooted in the Anglican tradition, St. John's is a member of the Diocese of Olympia, which includes all of Western Washington. The diocese is served by the Rt. Rev. Gregory Rickel, Bishop Diocesan. St. John's is a community of faith that believes that God works with us and through us to build a strong Christian foundation for our lives. Our mission is "To know Christ ; to walk with Him ; to make Him known". Everyone who comes through the doors--newcomer or old-timer--is at a different place in a journey of faith. We are committed to helping everyone examine his or her values, strengths and needs, to find ways we can grow, both individually, and as a congregation and in reaching out in compassion to the community.
