During Hurricane Matthew, Oct 2016, we had to evacuate the beach. My husband found this motel that would accept our pets. The room was clean with the bare necessities. We stayed 2 nights. There was not a coffee maker in the room or a hair dryer. There was a microwave and small refrigerator. The continental breakfast was over around 9 a.m. It was difficult to find a cup of coffee on that first morning of the hurricane. We stayed in a non-smoking room. My husband has never smoked and I have not smoked in 25 years. We had to put up a $100.00 deposit for our pets, 2 dogs and a cat. We have had to evacuate for hurricanes in the past and have always appreciated the area hotels/motels allowing pets during these exceptional times. We were told that the $100 deposit would be credited back within 3 business days after their inspection and cleaning. One of our dogs was so nervous that she would not go potty for a day and a night. I was able to find a dog park within 5 miles so we took them there each day. There were no accidents of any kind at the motel. My husband called back about a week later to follow up on the deposit. He was told that there was evidence of smoking in the room. We do not smoke, did not have any visitors. We had a "feeling" that we would have a problem getting our money back. Beware of this establishment.
