I will preface this negative review by saying that the service (or lack of) that I received occurred last year. So, hopefully things have changed since. I am a novice seamstress and was given my first sewing machine, which was older and needed to be serviced. I brought it in for a tune-up. I was told it would be 4 weeks to get it serviced and it would be almost $100. I didn't know better, so I left it there. At the 4 week mark, I had not received the promised phone call to say the machine was done, so I stopped by the shop to check in. The woman could not find the machine there and called some man on the phone. It seemed as though he could not find the machine on his end either. I was told it would take another 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks later and was told that it would be there "by Friday", which at that point was a few days away. When I got there on Friday, I got the machine, but have to admit that when I opened it up, it looked just as dusty as when I brought it in. We were moving a few weeks later, so I did not have time to try the machine then. A few months after our move, I tried to use the machine. It did not work well at all -- it seemed to me (a complete novice) that there was something wrong with the thread tension. So, today, I took it to a shop in my new town. I asked the man if it would take a few weeks to get it back and he laughed and said it would take one day to do a tune up. And the cost would be closer to $70 than $100. When he called me a few hours after I dropped it off to let me know that he had already finished the tune-up (!!!), he told me that he was quite sure that a tune-up had not been done anytime recently. So, my suspicions were confirmed that this shop most likely scammed me by never servicing my machine, holding my machine too long, and over-charging me for it. Please find a different business to service your machine!
