The food was one of the better places I’ve eaten for that type of food. The service was slow for not being busy at the time we were there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

El Cholo used to be the best for Margaritas and Mexican food. I don't know if they've changed hands, but after 30 years of going there, we're done. The food was not that good, and was different than how they used to serve it, the service was very poor, slow, impolite. The Margaritas were still good, but that doesn't make it worth it for us. You can get good Margaritas just about anywhere!

I have enjoyed El Cholo for many years as I am born and raised in La Habra.It has a certain charm and elegance with a true mexican flair! The outside taco bar is supurb and the traditional margaritas are to die for. The food is alo fantastic and the employees are always happy and polite! especially weekends are very busy

Cafe El Cholo is a step above the other larger Mexican restaurant chains. The food is great, the sauces are excellent and the Margaritas are first quality (for an extra kick try the LA Lemonade, WOW). The No.1 combination is my favorite (taco enchilada combo, try a rolled taco!) my wife likes the crab enchiladas and carnitas and both LOVE the Green Corn Tamales, YUM! (beware these are seasonal). What can I say: it's all good. The service is always very good and friendly. 4 locations to choose from: La Habra (our favorite), Irvine, LA (our first date) and Santa Monica, so go to one near you. Worth the drive.
