Dr. Lamberti leads the pediatric heart surgery program at Rady Children's Hospital, and also performs surgeries for adult congenital heart defects at Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center. Dr. Lamberti's clinical and research interests are focused on the surgical treatment of congenital heart disease in infants, children, and adults of all ages. He has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of complex infant heart surgery, the surgical repair of cardiac valves, and the comprehensive management of functional single ventricle patients of all ages.In 1978, Dr. Lamberti developed the pediatric cardiac surgery program at the Childrens Hospital of San Diego. In 2000, Dr. Lamberti moved to New York City where he was appointed Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Weill Cornell campus of the New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH). He was also appointed to the staff of the Columbia Presbyterian campus of NYPH. In 2003, Dr. Lamberti was appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine and Chief of Cardiac Surgery at the Childrens Hospital of Oakland, California.In 2005, Dr. Lamberti returned to San Diego as the Eugene and Joyce Klein Director of the Heart Institute at the Rady Childrens Hospital of San Diego.
