Linda Woo, MD, is an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctor who offers comprehensive care in all aspects of otolaryngology, including treatment for nasal obstruction, sinus disease, voice and swallowing disorders, snoring and sleep apnea, thyroid and parathyroid disease, salivary gland disorders, and head and neck cancer. Dr. Woos research background includes the study of surgery with molecular imaging guidance, uptake of ratiometric activatable cell penetrating peptides (ACPPs) by human cancer, and in vivo nerve imaging with affinity-based nerve labeling peptides. Her work has been featured in peer-reviewed publications, including Nature Biotechnology, Otology and Neurotology, Annals of Otology Rhinology and Laryngology, and Oral Oncology.Dr. Woo also has been invited to speak nationally on various topics such as the use of electrocochleography in the diagnosis and management of Menieres disease, and sensing nerve regeneration with implantable flexible electrodes. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Woo worked as a counselor for the Interval House Crisis Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence in Long Beach, for which she still serves on the board of directors. She is also involved with the Thousand Smiles Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on caring for children in Mexico who suffer from lack of dental care and maxillofacial deformities such as cleft palate.Dr. Woo completed residency training in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she also earned her medical degree and a master's degree in clinical research.
