Michelle Obispo McQuerry, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist and board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). She helps patients regain function and return to sports they enjoy through biomechanical and functional analysis and movement correction. Mrs. McQuerry is passionate about orthopedics and sports medicine and treats a wide range of athletes, including those who participate in marathons, triathlons, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, and ballroom/hip hop/ballet dance.Mrs. McQuerry joined UC San Diego Health in March 2012. She has been a guest speaker on behalf of Rehabilitation Services for the annual UC San Diego Womens Conference, UCSD student organizations, and notable companies in San Diego. She is also a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and teaches students in physical therapy graduate programs. As a clinical instructor, she emphasizes using evidence-based practices in developing effective techniques for patient recovery.Mrs. McQuerry obtained her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Southern California and completed her clinical work at several outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics in Los Angeles and San Diego. She obtained a bachelors degree in kinesiology and a certificate in gerontology at California State University, Long Beach. While earning her undergraduate degree at CSULB, she volunteered at the Preschool Early Motor and Development Clinic. She was also the project coordinator for the CSULB Kinesiology Movement Lab and published research in the International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Training. She has been an active member of the APTA since 2008 and has served as a district representative and as the legislative/political advocacy chair for the California Physical Therapy Association.In her spare time, Mrs. McQuerry enjoys kayaking, ballroom dancing, playing the piano, traveling and cooking.
