My car was a candidate for a natural wonder of the automotive world with both third and fourth gear gone. I was expecting to be slammed with additional repairs, and I was tremendously glad to find that Jerry and Sandy were my allies. They solved every issue that came to mind, whether getting me to work that first day (got a ride to the trolley station), or a car rental (Jerry gave me a contact number for a place with competitive rates on a very busy weekend), or even payment solutions, I was aided every step of the way. I am still paying off my repairs, or else I would be back by now with my latest batch of questions (hear that, Jerry?), but I know that this is one place that I do not mind investing my time and money.

I had a transmission worry that Summit checked out for free. They thought I might have a problem and also found that the car was still covered by a warrantee. Then they sent me to a dealer so the problem would be covered. They were efficient and very helpful and honest. I will return to them with any future transmission problems.

I believe I have a new mechanic.

I just got my car back today and man!! She runs like brand new!!

The noise from the bad bearing is gone, the clutch pedal is nice and springy and my engine is nice and quiet.

What a huge difference! My poor car was running pretty bad. I fixed what I could in the engine, but since I don't mess with transmissions, I took it to Jerry. He gave me an honest assessment not just of my transmission situation, but of the overall health of my car. The valuable information he gave me will enable me to prioritize my car's future repairs and now I can drive without fear of nasty surprises down the road. That kind of peace of mind is hard to come by when you drive a used car!

He didn't try to sell me repairs I didn't need and I do wish I'd had the budget to do more. He worked with me to get the more urgent problems out of the way first and make the most of my limited budget.

Gotta say, it was nice to have a mechanic actually collaborate with me rather than lecture me about my car. As a former mechanic myself, I know what transmission work usually runs and his prices are very reasonable this kind of repair.

Responsive, competent and personal service. Quite unlike the typical experience at a dealership or large chain shop.

I own a restored 1969 Mustang with extensive high performance modifications. I was having occasional problems shifting the TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission into first, third and fifth gears....everything "above" neutral. The speed shop I usually frequent gave up after a few tries at fixing the problem and suggested I give SUMMIT TRANSMISSIONS an opportunity to affect the repairs.



I called the shop and Jerry patiently gave me some specific symptoms to look for while driving the car to better enable him to diagnose the transmission problem. Once I arrived at the shop; my car was test driven, Jerry gave me extensive pricing information and explained when the car would be ready.. Since Jerry also owns a restored ‘60’s Mustang, he gave me assurances my car would be locked in his shop at night and left on a hydraulic rack so no harm would befall the automobile while in his care.



Afterwards, his wife Sandy drove me to a local mass transit center and took another customer to his nearby home. I was impressed with their willingness to go above and beyond the perfunctory customer service offered by many modern day commercial vendors. I ACTUALLY FELT LIKE I WAS THE CUSTOMER AND THEY WERE GLAD TO HAVE MY BUSINESS!



The repair was preformed on time and under the quoted cost. I cannot compliment this small business owner enough for his commitment to quality service, his honesty and integrity. Summit Transmissions is the best and I would unhesitatingly recommend this shop to folks in need of other manual or automatic transmission repairs

I took my Astro Van to Jerry because my mechanic said my transmission was slipping. Jerry correctly diagnosed that the problem was fuel system related, not the transmission and saved me $3000. For people of high integrity and trust, there's none better.

Jerry, the owner, of Summit Transmissions personifies honesty, integrity, and expertise. I know very little about cars and when I had a problem with my tranmission he was highly recommended. He explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. He gave me a few options and time to make a decision based on all the facts. He rebuilt my 92 Mitsubishi transmission and even gave me a two year warranty. When a problem arose right before the warranty period expired he immediately took care of it with no question and no charge. When a problem arose after the warranty period I called Jerry and his only concern was to find the problem and fix it. I had the car towed to Summit Transmissions and he not only repaired the car at no cost...due to low mileage...he rented a car for me for two days at his expense and gave me an additional 90 day/3.000 mile warranty All businesses should be run like this.

I've been using Summit since 2003 and I am a satisfied customer. Out of the three times I took my truck in, two times there was no charge because it was either not a problem or it was an engine problem (which was alleviated by a $9 fuel additive that Jerry recommended I buy at an auto parts store). Everything gets explained to me and I always leave with a better understanding of my truck and how to care for it. This shop is in the business of fixing transmissions, they do a great job, and go the extra mile.

As a former school bus mechanic, I feel qualified to evaluate this as an exceptional shop. Jerry completed the work quickly, and like their business card states, they only fixed what needed to be fixed. The problem with my Subaru was misdiagnosed by another shop, but Jerry pinpointed the noise and was articulate in explaining the work he planned to do fix it. My word, I could have been "taken to the cleaners"! How wonderful it is to find a mechanic with his level of integrity and customer service.

These guys are great! They were very helpful I was helped immediatly and they found my problem to be an engine idle issue rather than a transmission problem. I had been worried about having to deal with down time and the sometimes hefty cost of transmission work and they could have taken advantage of me and they did not. I was referred to a great mechanic in my area for the engine diagnosis and i have nothing but great things to say about Jerry and the guys and gals at Summit Transmission!

I WHANT TO START BY SAYING THAT I M VERY HAPPY WITH THE 3 CLUTCH TORQUE CONVERTER THAT SUMMIT TRANSMISION INSTALL ON MY 3500 DODGE RAM TRUCK THE AMOUNT OF POWER THAT THIS TORQUE CONVERTER GIVE MY TRUCK WHEN TOWING ITS 100% BETTER THAN THE STOCK ONE ANY BODY THAT NEEDS WORK DONE TO THEIR TRANSMISSION GO TO THE BEST AND FORGET THE REST

I thought i was having problems with my trans. that they rebuilt about a year ago with some stronger parts. They looked into it and found brass in the pan which means one of two things. but anyways they replaced the t-converter for me and that fixed my problem. So these are are good i will take all my cars to them when i have a problem.

Summit transmission fixed my car by repairing the transmission. I have been very satisfied. They have a 3 yr warranty and I have my car check annually by them at no charge. This way they can check to see if the transmission is working properly.



I would recomment this company to everyone for transmission work.

JUST A UPDATE TO THE STAFF AND MR JERRY AT SUMMITT TRANSMISSION, THAT MY CAR IS STILL RUNNING GREAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT CAME BACK ON AND THAT I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION AND I PASS MY SMOG TEST.
