On 12-19=2015, My family, a party of 18, met at Texas Roadhouse, La Plata, for a Christmas meal. after calling ahead several hours prior(because of the large party), we were assured that we could have 1 large table and it would be ready within 10 or 15 minutes of our arrival time of 3:30 pm. It was 4:45 before were were eventually seated at 2 tables in the same area but separated by another table. Bad service followed. and the server didn't get it in gear until she started to lobby for the tip, we were getting ready to leave. The food was good! The restaurant was over crowded, to the point that you could not walk without weaving in and out of people, trying to move the opposite direction while rubbing elbows and bodies against you. The tables were so packed that there was only about 18 inches between chair backs. I found myself wondering what the fire marshal would say, as I saw no nearby fire exits and was wondering what to do in case of a fire and the toll in human life a fire would have taken in the severely overcrowded restaurant. There was also NO consideration for my wife, who was handicapped and the girl who seated us vanished in a sea of people, about 100 feet ahead, leaving us unsure where to sit. Finally, my wife(who is disabled and has a heart condition) endured so mush shoving while going to the exit, she had breathing problems and recorded a heart episode on the portable heart monitor she wears. There was no consideration from patrons, especially a few very loud and rude sports fans., sometimes drunken sports fans, who were eager to get to the bar. The server wore a T-shirt that said Proud to Serve Veterans. She told me that Texas Road House doesn't care as they have rescinded their Active Duty and Retired Military Discounts. Let me make clear that while I am retired Military(over 20 years of active duty), I wasn't seeking, nor expecting to receive and did not ask for a discount. It was just another rude and abrupt statement. I will NEVER eat there again!
