Prepare for a visual shock when you first walk in...then get over it and explore all the cool stringed instrument goodness. When I was a kid, my parents had a Polk-a-lay-lee hanging on our family room wall. Polk Bros. gave them away when you bought furniture. I haven't seen one in 35 years...but he has two of them (different color options) in the shop! From Autoharps to Zakk Wylde strings, you can find it all. There is a bunch of collectibles to check out too. Now to the service, the Guitar Junkyard is owned by someone who truly loves music and especially stringed instruments. He is just as comfortable working on my Schecter 7-string as he is repairing a banjo. He has always been able to do my check-ups while I wait (during weekdays), and they are set up correctly. Take your axe there...the price is VERY reasonable and they are great people to deal with. You won't be disappointed!!! A++++++

The first time I walked in I thought... "You gotta be kidding me?" Then the friendly greeting to the incredible knowledge base, I realized it wasn't the wrapping but rather what was inside that counted. I would highly reccomend the Junkyard for all levels of musicians. The service more then met my expectations. He wasn't there to sell me the newest fad or the latest, greatest model. Nor was he there to rip me off after tuning up my guitar. They were above board, friendly and professional.

We don't know how lucky we our to have a place like this in our area. Somewhere that you can get so much help and advice from someone who actually appreciates and plays music for what it is. If you're a fan of any type of music, or if you just want to know why your guitar won't stay in tune.....or if you're just passing through Lasalle, Illinois.... take the time to visit The Guitar Junkyard!
