Air Zone was assigned to me by my home warranty company (AHS), to repair an air conditioner that wouldn't cool my house.

The system pressure was low, so they requested a nitrogen leak test and the results were that EVERYTHING was leaking - the condenser outside, the coils in the attic, AND the lines between them, which run between my first and second floor. Plus they claimed an additional $840 in "uncovered costs" that are outside of what AHS would cover (permits, plenum upgrade, and inspections - YEAH RIGHT...).

To replace the lines would have meant ripping up my wood floors, drilling through floor joists, cutting through drywall, then putting it all back together - NONE of which would have been covered by the warranty. So I got a second opinion... OF COURSE THEY SAID THE LINES ARE FINE.

So then I spent 2 months fighting Air Zone and AHS trying to get just the condenser and the coils replaced, and to leave the lines alone. Air Zone just continually refused to do the work unless they could also do the lines. SOUNDED PRETTY SUSPICIOUS.

During this whole time, trying to get in touch with Air Zone via phone is a MAJOR undertaking, They almost NEVER answer their phone, and their voice mail box is almost always full. And they never responded to any emails that I sent.

FINALLY, I got AHS to send a 3rd contractor, since Air Zone even refused AHS telling them to not touch the lines. The third contractor came out, and did a vacuum test on the lines (NO LEAK), and simply fixed a leak in the coils in the attic. THAT WAS IT! About 1.5 hours of work, no additional costs (other than refilling the coolant), and it's finally fixed.

SO BEWARE OF AIR ZONE, especially if you have a home warranty. My opinion is that they try to milk the system for every penny (and more) that they can get out of the warranty company (and you for "uncovered costs"), regardless of how small or easy the real fix could have been.

So far so good. I put in the request to my home warranty company at about 9:00 this morning, and Airzone called me by 11:50 a.m. They scheduled me for the next day. I am hopeful they will do a great job. I will write more when completed.

Don't use this company. The person is unprofessional and does half-assed work. I've been stuck using him because of American Home Shield. The first time, he filled 2 lbs of RE22 to one of my A/C units, but refused to check for a leak. Two years later, I had to get the same unit repaired again. AHS tried to send Air Zone out, but I refused so they sent me another company that had to again fill 2 lbs of RE22. A year later, I again had issues with the unit and AHS sent Air Zone out. The same tech that did the first repair came out to my house at around 4:45 pm. He walked in, looked at the unit running without doing any tests or physically touching the unit, and told me the unit looked like it was working properly. I told him that the unit had a leak and he argued it with me. I then showed him the multiple receipts from prior services including the one from his prior visit. He then checked the unit and determined it had a leak, but did not repair it saying he had to get approval.

Currently very unimpressed and suggest EVERYONE AVOIDS. Weeks and I haven't received a call back after numerous voicemail left. I get SENT to voicemail regularly. All I want is to hear from someone, so hopefully this negative review will help. If not me, some other triple digit sufferer.

In the end it got fixed. They wouldn't work on my unit unless it was moved 4 inches by another party (ie my husband) and then after fixing it didn't bother to move it back. Cleaning my 2.5ft by 2ft unit cost $320.

Just go somewhere else. For all the headache and lack of call backs, go somewhere else.
