Provided by YP.comI've enjoyed living here so far. The gym is nice although I don't use it as much as I should. I like the pool and the layout of the place. issues are addressed super quickly. Sometimes before I get home!

Provided by YP.comI think it's completely RUDE, UN-Professional and Just PLAIN STUPID for an apartment complex to give someone ONE DAY's notice of their intent to have the balconies pressure washed/ bleached. And just FYI, Cooper's Ridge, a note on every apartments' door is NOT A LEGAL BINDING DOCUMENT, it's not signed by any of us and yes, you surely are mistaken bc you most CERTAINLY are responsible for any and ALL damages to your residents' properties, no matter how small. What am I supposed to do with my patio furniture? Wait, I'll just bring it all the office and leave it for the day, how's that???
I keep my balcony clean, I bleach my own-thank you very much, and I sweep the entire 3 stories of steps leading up to my apartment on a daily basis, and I also sweep my balcony every single day.
So you can SKIP my place. What jackass corporations owning and renting and making a killing nowdays, and have NO RESPECT whatsoever for their tenants, even when we pay a grand a month to live here. MY MORTGAGE ON A 125K HOME is gonna be $250 less than your rent, and thats including SC's HIGH taxes and insurance.
WHAT A DISGRACE.
NOT EVEN A STAR, But it MADE me put at least one star for this review!
I WOULDNT EVEN GIVE THEM A HALF A STAR!!!!
the staff at Cooper's Ridge would just like to note that this complaint and the previous complaint do come from the same resident....

Provided by YP.comwe moved here in march of 09, everything SEEMED to be going ok at first besides our ice machine not working but as time has passed, i absolutely despise this place and will never sign up for another 12 months ever again.
1. neighbors are rude and are constantly giving me awful looks
2. the quality of the materials used to build the inside of the apartments is CHEAP. my kitchen drawer just collapsed...and it's not like i'm storing bricks in it or something just normal things, i've had a leaky faucet, ants, my towel rack broke in two pieces (again, it's not as if my towels weigh 1000 lbs), i guess something was wrong with our toilet and we had no idea about it until our water bill for our ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT was over $100! i went and talked to the management about it and at first they lowered the bill and had a maintenance man come out, but after he came and fixed our toilet we received a call saying it was our fault (as if im supposed to know what the hell a running toilet is or sounds like...i'm not a plumber and that was the first time i've ever heard of a toilet running) and we were responsible for the entire bill.
3. we got a deal on our rent the first year, but if you resign the lease for another 12 months, they increase your rent by $10 every year. i'm not paying over $600 for a low quality one bedroom apartment. forget it.
4. upstairs neighbors are VERY LOUD. i can pretty much hear everything they do.
5. seriously, the apartments look nice when being shown, but in all reality there's no space for anything. we don't even have a pantry, just three tiny shelves to try and fit our food on and i guess they don't believe in any towel storage areas in the bathroom. everything is just very inconvenient.
i wish i could post my pictures of the "quality" you're paying for when you live in these apartments, but all i can do is warn people who are considering this place. it's not worth the money.
Cooper's Ridge Apartments... we have 1 - one bedroom floor plan. Unless you rent site unseen, then when you come to visit you will see the model, which yes does have furniture, but does not have extra cabinets to fool you. What you see is exactly what you get. With the apartments now being 4.5 years old there will be some extra wear to some of the features, and we do try to preserve/replace as needed to uphold the clean look of the apartments (white on white). In fact, if you are uncertain about what exactly it is that you want (view, floor, location) we will show you as many ready apartments as you want, and we will ask you if you want to see your apartment before you move in. We are very lucky to have exceptional maintenance staff members who are quick to fix problems, such as leaky faucets if pipes/fittings come loose, or a non working ice maker (which is included in every apartment). No, our towel racks are not made out of steel, but plenty of residents never have a problem with them, in fact I am positive we still have some witholding after almost 5 years of regular use. In the lease we ask that leaks be reported to us immediately so that we can resolve the issue. If you mention to us that your toilet has been leaking for at least a month, you can bet we are not going to comp your bill because you are responsible for letting us know in a timely fashion. I am sorry if you disagree with this. We challenge you to find a rental that will never increase the rent, as we feel a $10 increase in rent is pretty incredible on the resident side of things. If you have a noise complaint we will gladly address it, but if you do not tell us about it, then we do not know about it. We also like to think that if you are nice to your neighbors, they will be nice back.... why wouldn't they? Now, if only we could post pictures of move out damages....

Provided by YP.comI have lived at Cooper's Ridge for 2 years. I have to say that the management staff has been very nice to me and have resolved everything I have mentioned. Also the maintenance men are very nice, quick and professional.
The BIG negative I have is how poorly these nice looking apartments are made. I hear everything my neighbors do. I know that when you live in apartments to expect some noise, but dealing with surround sound video games or movies every day and the bed banging all night is stuff I don't want to hear. I believe that these places (along with a lot of new places) are being built so fast that they don't take the time to think about insulation at all. I've always had an issue with noise above me but a 2nd floor apartment was all that was available when I first moved in.
There has been some crime in the apartments, but honestly now a days, there is crime everywhere you go. I don't plan on renewing my lease for the simple fact of the noise. I was going to try and move to an upstairs apartment when my lease was up but can't afford to pay all the fee's to do so. I'm going to plan a little better about finding some place without upstairs neighbors.

Provided by YP.comIf you see these apartments in an ad or in person, PLEASE by pass them by and keep looking!! My husband and I lived in these apartments for about 4 months. The buildings are CHEAPLY BUILT and the owners will do WHATEVER it takes to save a dollar! We started noticing MOLD all in the bedroom and all the way up to the ceiling in the closet! We informed management of the problem SEVERAL TIMES and all that they did was come and wipe off the walls with bleach water and a wet cloth. Then, after the 3rd time we complained, they brought de-humidifiers in there... HELLO? De-humidifiers pull moisture out of the air. WHY IS THERE MOISTURE IN THE APARTMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE, (must be a leak somewhere)?! The fourth time, I contacted the corporate office...they didn't care at all and tried to say that WE MUST BE CAUSING THE MOLD and it's OUR fault that it's there?! Are you KIDDING ME?! We did everything we were told. We used OUR electricity to run the de-himidifiers, AND to run the fans 24/7, AND turn the air conditioning down to freezing cold! May I also add that I was pregnant at the time (and currently) and informed the office of that also?! The staff is horrible, upper-management is rude, and the buildings were just thrown together! We got out of the lease after threatening to sue. These people didn't think we were serious until we started asking for all of the things in our file and the copies of complaints we made online to their request forum. If I wouldn't have been let out of this lease, I seriously would have had that place SHUT DOWN! If I could I'd give this place 0 Stars I so would! PLEASE BEWARE!

Provided by YP.comLooks great from the outside. Cheap quality appliances, carpet, and apartments!!! You get what you pay for. Just moved to the area and thought it was perfect until we had the door kicked and belongings was stolen just after 3 months. Nothing was said to anyone about the situation. Exactly Two weeks later they try to kick the door again. We move out the same day. What did they do to help us? Oh Nothing still had to pay for the month and break lease fee. This is there reason It's not our fault you got broke into. Total waste in management there. Drugs are all through that place just watch as you drive through you can see deals being made in the broad daylight. It's cool though they welcome the dealers.

Provided by YP.comWe have live at Coopers Ridge now for 10mths. First experience with management should have been a sign. We were called 3days prior to our move in date & were told that we would not be able to move in until 1 week after our original date. They said that the current tenants had not moved out. Luckily we had a place to stay in the mean time. Second issue we have noisy upstairs neighbors, management has not resolved this. They've told us there's not much that they can do since minors live with the tenants we are having issues. We've had to deal with these neighbors for the past 5mths. Management offered that we move from our 1st floor apt into a 3rd story apt. but that we had to pay a transfer fee & other charges. They have another thing coming if they think we will be re-newing our lease after our 12mths is up. On a positive note maintianence issues are resolved quickly, the apts & grounds themselves are new & well kept. The pool & playground areas are nice if you have children. Nice place, but unprofessional management staff. We have since found another home to rent & will be moving out ASAP. These apt are now worth the money: poorly insulated, unwilling to help office management staff, & our lights flicker often even when no storms are in the area.
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy here in your apartment at Cooper's Ridge. We rely on the residents to move out when they say they will, and if they do not we work very hard to get the apartments ready for the new residents as fast as we possibly can, or find another apartment to move them into. While we do address noise concerns that we receive, Fair Housing guidelines do not allow us to address all noises the way most residents would like for us to. We do recommend to anyone moving in if they are concerned about noise from above that they move to the third floor as this is the only area you will never hear noise above you. We do offer the transfer of apartments for your with a fee (only in the middle of the lease- no charge at the end of the lease) for residents who want to move for any reason. We never suggest moving to the same floor in a different area because we cannot guarantee you will never hear noise again. This is apartment living and you will be subject to hear some noise from time to time. Thank you for the kind words about maintenance and the grounds. If you are still having problems with your lights we would like you to call in a work order as sometimes this is something as simple as a screw coming loose. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do.

Provided by YP.comPOOR, POOR DECISION to move here! I agree with the other review, they are all nice in the office UNTIL AFTER YOU SIGN YOUR LEASE AND GIVE THEM A COUPLE GRAND! We havent even been here a month yet, and I was written up w/ a warning today over having a VACUUM cleaner sitting outside my door. NOT a BAG OF STINKY GARBAGE that could cause bugs , but, yes a VACUUM CLEANER! Yep. You give them a couple grand and you get written up for stuff like this, all the while there are people under us dealing DRUGS IN PLAIN SIGHT during the middle of the day. My husband and I have 4 children, and are honest people. We had the SAME people below us STEAL OUR CABLE/INTERNET within the first 7 days we were here, the apartment management have done NOTHING about it. As of this moment, I am staring out my bedroom window looking at the SAME BAG OF TRASH in a neighbor's hallway by their door for 3 HOURS NOW, and I have even called the front office, yet still no one has written THEM up. A GRAND A MONTH IS NOT WORTH THE POOL, FOLKS! Do not let this apartment complex fool you! ONLY 3 yrs old, yet our a/c is already acting up. Nice ceramic tiles, yet, the tenants before us DESTROYED them. You can bet that in 11 months, we will be outta here!!! Spend your GRAND on a HOME rental, not this place! Good place to live if you are single, military and NOT MARRIED with kids. ON Saturday, we heard GUN SHOTS. No one has done a thing. Police came SATURDAY EVENING and "Patrolled'" the area. No, its not as bad as NORTH CHARLESTON but do you think I'd let my 4 kids play outside after hearing/witnessing GUN SHOTS? Please!
This place doesnt even get ONE out of Five stars in my book. Look elsewhere. YOU'LL THANK ME!!!!

Provided by YP.comMy wife livee at these apartments for a while, and later our son continued living there for a few months until he found a new place. Put in notice to vacate on November 8th providing the required 30 day notice to move out on December 7th.. Final rent for December was prorated for the 1st to the 7th, and paid for in full on December 3rd. Final walkthrough was to be the evening of December 7th. When he arrived at the apartment to remove the last of his belongings on December 6th he found that everything was gone. The management had removed all the rest of his belongings and put them in the compacting dumpster, never to be retrieved. Removed itmes included his army discharge papers, birth certificate, social security card, photos, all of his clothes, and many other personal belongings. THIS WAS DONE WHILE HE WAS STILL A PAID TENNANT! They didn't even have the courtesy to call to say what they intended to do before trashing all his belongings.
Other factors:
They never sprayed for bugs during 14 months of living there (roaches & bugs everywhere)
Thin walls (you really get to know your neighbors, ESPECIALLY the ones above you.)
VERY RUDE MANAGEMENT (after you sign anyway. Nice up to then...)
AVOID THIS OWNERSHIP GROUP! --- EVIL!!!
Looking forward to our day in court with these people.

Provided by YP.com***POTENTIAL RENTERS OF COOPERS RIDGE BEWARE!*** Heres why: We stumbled upon this apartment community accidentally while looking and considering a different apartment community. We submitted applications (the application fee was $25.00 and there were 4 applicants for a total of $100.00)and an admin fee of $100.00. We MADE sure to ask about any chance of any of our money not being refunded if we chose to go to a different apartment community. We were advised NOTHING would be done with any of the applications or fees because all parties needed to also present pay stubs as well as ID. These applications and checks were to mere place hold the apartment. We were very clear. We didnt choose CR. We asked for our money back and received 100 of it back and was advised they didnt refund application fees. They deny telling us that the applications wouldnt be processed. The manager was very very rude and nasty about it. DO NOT RENT FROM COOPERS RIDGE!
Application fees are regularly $50 per applicant, and are always non refundable. Occasionally we do run specials such as the $25 app fees (or maybe you were part of our preferred employer program that receives 1/2 off the application fees). Cooper's Ridge does not have administrative fees. The hold fee of $100 goes toward your deposit (which is based on credit) and is refundable up to a certain point before you move in. We hope that this response makes our fees clear to anyone who made read, but in addition, the back of the application does state that application fees are non refundable.
