Founded in 1945 by Mr. C.C. Thibodeaux and Mr. Hewitt J. Bordelon, Lafayette Wood-Works entered the Lafayette, La., market as a manufacturer of finished furniture. In July of 1998, the company was by Cameron Ashley Building Products, a multi-faceted billion dollar corporation. It s parent company, Wm. Cameron of Texas, is one of the oldest millwork distributors, dating back to 1868. The move positions Lafayette Wood-Works to offer its customers a broader spectrum of building products and services, including such items as the distribution of roofing, sidings and other allied building products. Its manufacturing facilities consist of a high-speed, state-of-the-art mill and a custom mill with capabilities for special millwork.
