I desperatley needed to register my child in her new district of Laguna Beach so I called the school during school hours to find out when I could come over. After being passed along to different extensions by way of the recorded operator I was able to speak to a human in the academic advisors department. Evidently she wasn't very happy about another student being enrolled because she was very defensive in her attitude toward me. I felt like I had to pry every answer out of her and when I didn't repeat the fax number she flashed to me, she asked if I was still on the phone and wanted to know why our conversation was going so badly.??? I told her I was writing down the number and that I was not aware of our conversation going badly. Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to meeting with her tomorrow.



This was not my first encounter with the staff, my child and I went to the school with all the required documentation on the preset date back in June to register and were told by her assigned counselor that I would not be able to register my child in their school because she was lacking the necessary credits for her grade level. I found out later from her former school that because we now lived in their school district LBHS was obligated legally to enroll her. My child just completed summer school so we returned last week to try again but the doors were locked with a sign on the Administration door saying they had gone to a lunch meeting and would return in 2 hours.
