Awesomeness! The food. The service everything!

I went in last week, but we could barely see where we were going, much less able to read the menu. The place was just about empty. We were ushered to a table near a very dark bar, and it took near 5 minutes to get water. I asked how we were supposed to order hibachi without knowing what was in it (the menu literally ONLY said chicken, pork, beef, and shrimp). The waiter said it's just noodles and meat. I asked what else was in it other than the meat and noodles, and was told "yes, we have hibachi." We asked for more clarification on the menu, but our waiter walked away.

We saw sushi go out to the only other table, and was disappointed by their reactions. Apparently the sushi was not very good. It was nearly 10 more minutes before we got so irritated that we left. We spent about 20 minutes total inside this very dark place and we never even ordered.

On a better note, the people that were lucky enough to sit at the tables where they cook in front of you, they seemed to be having fun, but I heard from a close friend who went there with her office that it was only average quality food and definitely NOT worth the money.

Brenda & I went to OSAKA Japanese Steak House & Sushi located at 3035 Hwy 14 Lake Charles, LA, 337-990-5478 (in the shopping plaza where the old Krogers use to be). This is a must go. $$ pricing is very affordable, atmosphere is soft & elegant and ideal for that 1st date, business meeting or graduation celebration...hint hint. I felt a little underdress but Joe, owner, welcomed us to enjoy the restaurant. This place will have you happy. Jessica, our waitress, is friendly and showed interest in Brenda & my dining experience. The chief sent over a complementary squid salad, that I will request again, that is very tasty. All the food is pleasing to the eye and taste buds. For example, the cucumber were cut to resemble lotus flower petals. I only realize it was eatable after I touched it. Yes! that beautifully detailed. Osaka is five star dining experience. Joe, I will must surly return. Thank you for bringing a taste of Japan to Lake Charles.
