Kudos to Tire Mart

The following is a comment to Sunbelt Dodge on my experience with their service department and the main reason I've come back to Tire Mart. I'm not sure if everyone is treated as well as I've been by them but they have my vote each and every time. I've had many vehicles serviced there over the years, for various reasons, and can say with conviction that I am appreciative of their honesty and integrity where service is concerned. Tires, brakes, exhausts on my Kia, Toyota and Chevy and not once can I say that I was overcharged, or charged for unnecessary replacement of parts or service. The staff, though always busy, are pleasant and they seem to run a tight ship. I assume good management is the key.

My review to Sunbelt Dodge and why I've put Tire Mart at the top of my list. (as I should have before)

I bought my new "used" car in September 2007 from Sunbelt Dodge in Lake City. My salesman (Jason Hessley) was excellent in his efforts to find me a great vehicle at a price that my budget could afford. My Dodge Caliber had a low 20,000 miles on it and was in excellent condition. A few months later, I had a minor accident. I ran over some large branches that were in the roadway at night, during a bad storm. From that time on, I had a loud vibrate/rattle noise coming from the muffler area. Having some knowledge of vehicles, I did a visual to assess the damage. I saw nothing other than a bent support brace. Not feeling anything loose, I wondered if perhaps the muffler might have suffered some internal damage that I could not see. I made an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and/or repaired. When I received the estimate call some hours later, I was told that my repairs would exceed $900. Not only for the muffler $425..but also for a new set of tires that somehow had obtained tiny slashes all over them. Needless to say, I explained that I would be right over to be shown the apparant damage before making any decisions. My car on the lift, the mechanic explained that the muffler was damaged (again, nothing outwardly visible) and that my tires were showing signs of breaking down. I saw no problems with my fairly new tires (remember my car now only had 23,000 miles on it). Feeling taken advantage of, I paid my $85 estimate fee and took my vehicle elsewhere. I made an appointment with Tire Mart, kicking myself for not doing so in the first place. They have serviced many of my vehicles in the past, for various things and always, always been honest and fair with me. I left my car for inspection and when they called me a few hours later, I was ecstatic to find out that my exhaust needed nothing more than a new brace to replace the bent one. My tires, and they know tires...were just fine. I came back with my vehicle looking and sounding like new for a mere $45 plus tax. Yes, $45.00 Needless to say, Sunbelt Dodge service won't be getting any of my money in the future and I will be sharing my experience with others. I'm not saying this is the norm for this establishment, I would just recommend you do your homework before you say yes to a huge bill that might not be what is warranted.
