Lake In The Hills Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Village streets, airport, water supply system, parkways, trees, signs, sidewalks, lakes, beaches, dams, parks and fleet maintenance for all Village vehicles. It is divided into four divisions that specialize in each of these areas: Administration, Streets, Water, and Public Properties. The water department conserves water whereas its streets department is responsible for the patching and general maintenance of streets. The public properties division of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of village-owned buildings and public properties that include Village Hall, Police Department, Public Works facilities, including well houses, Airport facilities, rental properties and mechanical services.
