Established in 1954, Big River Industries produces expanded clay lightweight aggregates for a variety of applications for customers throughout the South and Midwest. Its aggregates are used in various concrete masonry and ready-mix concrete products, including concrete blocks and structural concrete for buildings and highway bridge decks. Big River Industries products are also used in precast concrete, skid-resistant asphalt, geotechnical fill and specialty products. Its aggregates provide insulating capabilities, strength, durability, and earthquake, fire and fatigue resistance. The company also markets Class C Fly Ash, which is a by-product of western coal combustion and can be used as a partial replacement for cement in concrete products and for soil stabilization.
