Touching!

I was in Bethany's Center last week visiting my great aunt and I was only there for about an hour, but i saw some things that changd the way i think about nursing homes in general. The people who work there actually acted as though they love the residents including my great aunt. She has always loved her large fountain cokes, so a staff member ran to the gas station and bought one for her. When i tried to pay her for it she refused my money! Its this type of gesture that makes me feel comfortble having my loved one at Bethany.

Poor first impression

I went in last week for a tour with the man who is director of admissions. He was very forceful, rude, and didnt answer my questions throughly. He "beat around the bush" when I walked in the front the front desk lady was on the phone with what sounded like her boyfriend. I was standing at the desk for over 5 min. When I said excuse me I would like to take a walk in tour she yelled across the hall to a man in the office. We walked down the hall and first thing I saw was a lady with her shirt off obviously confused. After the man ushered her back we walked through and the facility was very nice but kept dirty. There was a sour smell in the back dining room, it was past lunch and food was all over the tables and floor. There were even residents sleeping on the table and sitting in the back. First impression, wasn't good I wouldn't take my loved one [email protected]
