The owner started cleaning up a half hour before they close, making me feel like they wanted me to leave so they could go home. I asked what my options were to finish my project and was told I could return another day and they would pour out my "paints" free-of-charge. I asked what time they opened the next day and then turned in my plate so they could clean up. When I returned the next day to finish, the owner told me they had already glazed it as they didn't realize I wasn't finished and that I should have taken it home with me to finish. Even though I hadn't been told that was an option, I would have been understanding of the miscommunication if they had apologized, but instead the owner made me feel like it was all my fault. She did offer to scrape off the glaze so I could fix it, but by this point I was upset and didn't want to stay in there and have to ask her for paints, brushes, towels and inconvenience her further since she had already made it clear that I had broken some rule that I should have known.

Relaxing fun atArtsaBlaze Studio

This place is great! We had a great relaxing time. The kids all picked a pottery piece to paint. The ladies who worked there help the little ones pick out the unlimited amount of paints to use on their masterpieces. They had stamps, stencils, inspirational art books and every employee was willing to guide us. We finally found some cool stamps to put birds, stars, peace symbols and sponges to apply their mix of colors.

When the kids finished their masterpieces, they moved into the party room and found the "kids" area. Disney...Nickelodeon....were on TV as well as a bunch of kid friendly books, puzzles and games. All these activities were enjoyed at a kid friendly size table and chairs. As our group of kids played with some other kids in the video monitored play room, us moms took full advantage in creating our own platters, tea pots and even a new bisque food dish for Fido our dog.

All the prices included everything, no additional sitting/studio fees. No kiln firing fee. The staff was attentive, but never intrusive. They say pottery is cheaper than therapy and that is 100% true at Arts A Blaze Studio.

Next time we are going to venture and do some glass fusing. The items they make from glass...jewelry, sushi plates, ornaments and a bunch of other things I can't recall right now.

We also got an added treat that day, the owners dog Cookie a very old miniature Dachshund was visiting that day and requested a brief belly rub from all of the willing patrons. Also the gentleman who fires the kilns, allowed us a quick tour of the dipping-glazing area as well as the kiln room itself. The kids were besides themselves after they found out that the pottery cooks at over 1800* for over 7 hours.

They have all kinds of parties and events. This community has been in need for a studio like this. Fun for all and at a stress free environment.

Make sure to say hi to Cookie the little hot dog if she is there when you stop by.

They said our stuff would be ready in a week, they called us two days later to let us know our masterpieces were fired and ready to be picked up...That was very COOL!

Thanks arts a blaze, we will be back soon.
