Espresso-fueled Activism!

This coffeehouse offers everything I believe a coffeehouse should: excellent espresso drinks, lively and passionate discussion about political/social/cultural change, free wi-fi, a relaxed and unpretensious atmosphere, and while not the most important, but certainly not least...they let me hook up MY mp3 player to their system and play MY playlist!!

The shop relies heavily on contributions, donations, and volunteer baristas. I (being active duty Army) love the fact that they STRONGLY and actively support Soldiers and their rights. The following is borrowed from the coffeehouse's Facebook page:

"COFFEE STRONG is a GI coffeehouse outside of Ft. Lewis, WA. We offer drop in GI rights counseling as well as resources for free therapy, sexual assault advocacy, job mentoring, and much more.

We host shows, movie screenings, and Iraq Veteran Against the War meetings. The space is also available for other radical groups.

Everything we have has been donated. The espresso machine, the furniture, the piano, the computers, the electrical work, the radical library. This place wouldn't be possible without you.

If you are passing through the Tacoma, WA area, stop off at exit 122 (Freedom Bridge) turn right on Union, and stop by for a cup of coffee."
