Pierce College offers vocational degree and certificate programs and continuing education and transfer courses. It is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. The college building houses a cafeteria, Internet caf , meeting rooms, and electronic engineering technology and computer network engineering classrooms. It offers professional and technical programs in alcoholism and drug abuse, business information technology, child nutrition program management and criminal justice. The college also offers associate degree courses in arts, business, general science and nursing. Its athletic department organizes sports events in basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball. Pierce College, established in 1967, is located in Lakewood, Wash.
