Hello, I am the owner of Lampasas Grooming and I would like to personally explain the circumstances around the bad review left by Ms. Yumiko on 06/21/2014.

Although my groomer was told that this cat had been bathed and groomed in the past, the information we received after this incident was quit the contrary. It was brought to my attention, while speaking with the customer's husband that this cat was actually sedated on those occasions while being groomed. With all animals that are groomed or bathed, there is always a chance that while the groomer is carefully attempting to cut claws or trim nails, the animal is likely to make quick movements that can result in an accidental cut into the "quick" of the nail bed. Like people, all animals respond differently to pain. This cat made no indication that her claw had been cut too closely, nor did it bleed like they usually do. ( and when this happens there is a medicated product placed on the cut to stop bleeding and numb any pain). Non of this took place. This cat did amazingly well during the initial bath. It did not try to climb or jump. Now afterwards was a different story. There were three people that held this kitty while the groomer attempted to dry her. And because she would not tolerate that, the same three people needed to hold her as the groomer attempted to cut the cat's damp fur. There came a point when this kitty was having no more of it. In fact, it is standard scope of care to only work on a distressed animals for 10 minute intervals at which point the animal is placed back in the holding crate to rest and relax. Our policy is also, that the groomers will "call" the customer when their pet is ready to go home, unless there are specific arrangements made. Ms. Yumiko arrived unexpected, which was no problem however, she insisted on not allowing our groomer to finish trimming and blowing out the cat. There for she went home looking terrible. Trimmed on one side, wet and of course mad. As was Ms. Yumiko. I immediately called Ms. Yumiko and asked her to bring her cat back to the shop. I gladly refunded all her money and had the groomer that was on duty re-groom the cat while myself and Ms. Yumiko held the cat. By the way, it took three people again to hold the cat. Ms. Yumiko seemed very satisfied when she left the shop at that point. I've personally called and asked her very nicely to remove or edit her review on this website and she declined due to not knowing how to check her emails in order to regain her password. She also asked that I do not ever call her again and if I did she would put another review up and that "I would not like it" This is the other side of the story and I wished to express to all our future customers that we make every effort to make sure our fuzzy friends are happy and well cared for during their stay with us!

I absolutely love this place! I take my dogs here when ever I go to work. They love playing with the other pups and they always come home smelling so AMAZING!! I even took my sisters cat here once to get a hair cut by Emily and looked so fabulous! Even was purring! Love it!

I have taken my dogs there three times now and have been very happy each time. The majority of my friends take their animals there as well, you can tell they are animal lovers and we've all been extremely happy with how our animals are groomed. Best of all the shop is very clean! It doesn't even smell like a dog shop! Whenever I am there or when I drive by I can see that the animals are having a blast in the play area out back!
