The Lancaster Recreation Department is a part of the Town of Lancaster, which provides an ample amount of recreational parks and forest area. Recreation Department offers leisure and entertainment activities through more than seven playground sites and nearly five major parks with picnic shelters and athletic fields. In addition, the department provides swimming lessons, basketball leagues and tournaments for children, as well as numerous instructional sports camps. Through its forestry segment, Recreation Department offers a tree plantation program and various environmentally friendly activities with support from the local residents. The department maintains an office in Lancaster, New York.
