Established in 1967, Chief Tarhe Elementary School provides educational programs to more than 450 students in kindergarten through grade six. It includes over 20 teachers who conduct classes in various subjects, such as English, science, music, art, physical education, reading, writing, social studies and math. The school s staff includes intervention specialists, literacy coordinators, librarians, gym coaches and custodians. Chief Tarhe Elementary School operates a parent-teacher association that encourages and coordinates parental involvement in students education. It features a library and media center that organizes various reading programs and maintains a collection of books, databases and reference materials. Located in Lancaster, Ohio, Chief Tarhe Elementary School is a part of Lancaster City Schools, which serves nearly 6,500 students.
