The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that maintains criminal investigations, patrol, correction, communication, crime prevention, court security and administrative support divisions. It provides concealed weapon permits, animal control, noise violations, and domestic violence and sexual offenses prevention services. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office maintains a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to local laws, firearms instruction, defensive tactics, first aid, as well as an understanding on how the sheriff s office patrols and investigates crimes. The office supports TRIAD, which is a community policing initiative between senior citizens, law enforcement officers and service providers. Located in Lancaster, Va., the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office provides services in the towns of Irvington, Kilmarnock and White Stone, Va.
