Founded in 1958, the historical society was named in honor of George Washington’s mother who was born in the County. The site encompasses the 1820s Old Jail, 1797 Clerk’s Office, and 1830 Lancaster House buildings in the Lancaster Court House Historic District. Changing exhibits feature antiques and artifacts on a variety of local topics. Library offers an extensive collection of genealogy and history research materials.
