Provided by YP.comOnce they get their TALONS into your wallet, they don't want to release. I purchased 90 days of private training (through Devon) to get acclimated with the equipment and get into a routine. When I signed up, Devon explained I needed to put in a cancellation notice between 60 and 30 days from my cancellation date, because the plan was open ended. Fine. Since Devon was also my trainer, it should have been no problem to give him notice when the time was right. I mentioned cancelling the sessions within the time period required and Devon had an excuse or suggestion for not doing it right then, but I assumed he had done it. Even though, I mentioned my 90 day plan to him at least 5 separate times over the 70 days working with him.
As my 90 days was approaching (yesterday was day 75) I took time off from work to go to the club to make sure that I would not be AUTOMATICALLY charged another $300 for private training I didn't need or want anymore. I told the clerk at the desk and he said he would get a manager to see.
A little muscly guy with an earring and dark hair came out of the office and said he was the manager. I spent about 20 minutes explaining my situation to him.
He told me that there was nothing he could do, that it was in the agreement that I needed to give them notice between 60 and 30 days. I told him that I gave notice to Devon. He explained that I should have come to him. I told him that Devon had signed me up and also trained me, so I just told Devon. With his arms crossed, the little muscly young man with the earring told me again that I should have come to him to cancel, and that there was nothing he could do. I explained that I had no idea he even existed on this planet, so how or why should I have known to go to him to cancel. Again, he reiterated the agreement terms.
After 20 minutes of this, I realized that he was a "name-tag manager", and that he was just following instructions from corporate. In reality, he indeed had no control over the situation, but maybe it was his ego that wouldn't allow him to just come out and say that. Or maybe that's how the YouFit corporation trains their people.
To validate my issue, my wife (who works across the street at SunTrust bank) told me that they have at least once person a week coming in to stop UNAUTHORIZED, recurring payments from YouFit.
Devon was a nice guy, so I was nice back. In retrospect though, I should have been more adamant about cancelling. YouFit appears to be in business to make money. Period.
Since I can't trust these people, I won't be going back. Sad, because I finally got into a routine.
