The Licensing Division is a part of the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, which is governed by the State of Michigan. The division is responsible for determining eligibility for examination and licensure, as well as monitoring licensee's compliance with continuing education requirements. It oversees the administration of examinations to those professions that have an examination requirement. The Licensing Division serves landscape architects, polygraph examiners, private security guards, investigators, real estate brokers and security alarm contractors. The division s testing and education services unit serves more than 25 licenses administered by the Bureau of Commercial Services. The Licensing Division serves auctioneers, barbers, builders and cemeteries.
