Red Cedar Friends Meeting (Quaker)
1400 Turner St, Lansing, MI 48906
We are the local Quaker group (the Religious Society of Friends). We meet for worship at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. The children's program begins at 10:15. On weekdays, there is also an informal opportunity to worship at the Meeting House from 7:30 to 8 a.m.
Red Cedar Friends Meeting is an unprogrammed Quaker meeting. At an unprogrammed meeting for worship, Friends gather in expectant silence, out of which those who are led to speak offer vocal ministry. We do not have pastors, a formal program for worship, organized communal prayers, or planned hymn-singing.
We are open, affirming, and appreciative of spiritual seekers. We are diverse by age, and people come from many religious backgrounds and traditions. As a community, we are committed to traditional Quaker testimonies of equality, simplicity, stewardship, integrity, and peace.
