Located in Laramie, Wyo., Cathedral Home For Children is a dedicated to aiding traumatized youth in reclaiming and rebuilding their lives. For more than 100 years, we've provided education, counseling and enrichment to help children become better in relationships, schoolwork, and daily life. We're dedicated to breaking the cycle of despair, violence, and failure. Our friendly campus consists of five residential cottages, including a chapel. Our onsite, full service school is accredited by the Wyoming and California Departments of Education and awards children with high school diplomas or GEDs. Our licensed counselors are present in every cottage and lead in group therapy catered to the individualized treatment plans. We aid children with: • Self-esteem • Conflict resolution & anger management • Values clarification • Criminal thinking patterns • Drug & sex education • Assertiveness & social skills Since 1995, we've also assisted traumatized deaf and hard-of-hearing youth in our integrated deaf program. Many of the children who come to our campus come from various different backgrounds and require different courses of action to become better members of society. After treatment, our Transition & Aftercare Program checks on our former students to ensure they do become successful. Our school, the Mae Olsen Education Center, is occupied by Wyoming certified teachers. Assistant teachers are certified substitute teachers as well. Our school has also received a grant from the John P. Ellbogan Foundation for teaching students the necessary skills to obtain employment.
