I have a long history of visiting Through the Looking Glass, going back more than a decade, most recently in Jan. of 2018.

Over the years I have seen three different psychologists here. All were intelligent, compassionate, and capable. I can honestly say these professionals, in varying ways and degrees, have been supportive and helpful, such that dealing with my particular problems has been much more positive and tolerable than if I had not sought help at TTLG. I believe that strongly. Without reservation, I recommend the psychologists at TTLG to anyone dealing with emotional, social, or mental difficulties.

Although all the psychologists at TTLG have been helpful, I have to especially thank Dr. Greer. From childhood to the present time, I have seen over a dozen psychologists and psychiatrists. Some were helpful, many were not, and there were a few who were unethical and even dangerous. Yet out of them all it was only Dr. Greer who advised I try a certain psycho-pharmaceutical SSRI that actually helped more than anything else.

You could wait 10 mins. to a 1/2 hour in the waiting room, but in my experience this is shorter than the average wait to see a counselor at a private practice. If you have to wait - you might get to see the counselor right at the appointed time - I think you will find it worthwhile.

P.S.: A quick note about bad counselors: The unethical and dangerous ones are typically driven by unhealthy levels of greed, selfishness, a lack of empathy, and/or other significant mental problems of their own. After encountering a few of this sort, they will usually be easy to spot once you spend a little time getting to know them, if you pay close attention to their personalities/behaviors. A good general rule of thumb is be very careful with a new counselor until they have proven to be trustworthy; otherwise they may do far more harm than good. The ones at TTLG have always been great. Best wishes and best of luck to you.

Dissatisfied

I tried going to this place, because 1 the availability was good (according to the receptionist), and I was quite surprised when I got in within 2 days. Getting to know this lady and she was quite nice, except the fact that because I hadn't been seen by a primary care physician, I never received any assistance with my bipolar medications, even though it was rather clear I needed them. I missed one appointment, was having a hard day since I wasn't taking a mood stabilizer and the receptionist is the most rudest person I have ever had to deal with. When I initially started she wanted me to go find all their fax numbers (for other doctors id seen) even though I had signed and provided all the names. Than when I missed and called to apologize and get an appointment, she was so rude! I explained that I was sorry and she proceeded to shove down my throat that she is much to busy for me to miss appointments. I told her I didn't have any intentions of missing and she proceeded to act very rude! So I am no longer seeing that place because like I told the receptionist that I was "offended" by the way she had treated. I am sorry I would not recommend this place because of my bad experience.

Dr. Hoover

This man is excellent, and the clinic staff are the nicest people, and the decor inside is great.
