Provided by YP.comI will be writing a long & detailed review of why I have decidedly given this salon a single star (none if there were the option).
I began going to this nail salon a year ago. Their prices are very reasonable. $20 for a set, $15 for fill & $5 for gel, which I always get.
There are approximately 8 technicians that I've noticed. Somehow, I had always only gotten 1 of 2 of them (both men, whose names I have, sadly, never gotten).
With them, they NEVER hurt my cuticles, never used the drill type tools, I never had to yank my hand away because it began to burn... nothing. They were experts. Also, they applied the acrylic perfectly. Never got it too close around the edges & cuticles, therefore, they never began popping up. Also meaning, they never had to use one of those drills around the perimeter of my nails. I was always very happy, and was glad to spend my $20-30 there ever couple weeks.
This past Saturday (December 18) I was due for a fill. And was looking forward to having a nice design for Christmas.
For the first time I had gone in in the morning & got a girl named Kim.
Since I had never had her before, I explained that I don't like the acrylic too close to my skin/cuticle and that my fingers are quite sensitive. I told her I'd been very happy with the men I'd always had before.
She said, "yes mmhmm" & continued with my fill.
First thing she did was pull out one of those drills and start at my fingers.
It already began to hurt. She just said, "sorry" and continued on.
When she began to apply the acrylic I noticed my previous layer was popping up & she applied the acrylic OVER the bubble.
I HAD TO TELL HER THAT THIS WAS WRONG.
I am not the expert, but I DO know that this is an invitation for bacteria growth.
She told me (with a VERY strong accent), "you come back next time & I'll take care of you. New set.." *like hell I'd be back.*
She said she'd "fix it." After frustratingly pointing out issue after issue with the acrylic application, I finally gave up & we started for a design.
She spent *LITERALLY* an HOUR trying designs I MIGHT like. I told her what I wanted & she couldn't do it. It was not a hard design. A flower with a clear gem in the center.
After messing up over & over, I let her try her own designs. She came up with a decent idea of 2 flower pedals with a gem on the right side of my nail. I asked her to make them symmetrical so that my left had, the design would be on the right & on my right hand would have it on the left. She tried & couldn't do it.
I was furious.
Summary, if you go here, make sure to NOT get Kim.
My nails looked worse after that fill than they usually look in 2 weeks.
