This hotel is such a great value. Maybe its not in the best part of town, but there is plenty to do in the area. The restaurant at the Gold Spike has delicious and cheap food, they have table games with low limits, plenty of slots and dollar beers. That is enough to amuze me for the weekend. There are also plenty of great bars close by. This is a great spot for a cheap trip to vegas.

I just stayed at the Gold Spike for a friend's birthday. The remodel looks great! I was shocked to see all the improvements they have made to the property. I was also pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the customer service. They have great deals on drinks and quality food at the restaurant as well.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Gold Spike the atmosphere reminded me of old Vegas. It was within walking distance of Fremont St which has a lot of great bars and entretainment. The casino area is really nice considering how reasonable the room prices are. My stay definately exceeded my expectation. I would also recommend that you dine in the restaurant the food is cheap and delicious. The hot dogs are amazing. Probably the best hotel in downtown vegas!
