Provided by YP.comUpon moving to Vegas, I looked online for places of worship that weren't denominational, that accepted everyone and hopefully was not weird! One click leads to another and I ended up with my husband (half willingly tagging along) at Easter Sunday service. Coming from a theatre background, when we stood up and sang "In Your Easter Bonnet" following the lyrics on two large screens, I knew I was at a special place.
Reverend Cynthia spoke and she was warm, authentic, not "preachy" and certainly laughing at her own flaws. She has an incredible gift for getting an original message across in an inspired, wonderful way. There was a fantastic singer and continues to be different professional singers every Sunday. I've heard great Broadway songs like "Climb Every Mountain" to original songs that are all inspirational and uplifting.
One of the best things about the Center is the courses they offer, lead by inspirational, non-judgmental, uplifting teachers who dig inside to solve problems and help get you back on track, whatever that track might be. There's also a great small bookstore and the opportunity to get an instant CD of the service for only five dollars.
The Center follows the teachings of Ernest Holmes, a brilliant man, along with Jesus, Buddha and many other spiritual gurus that have walked our Earth. I connected with the philosophy that God is alive in all of us and is not some bearded man above the stars. God wants the best for us including good health, wealth in all areas and success. Gratitude is immensely important and they follow the law of; you must give to receive and forgive to be forgiven. God wants us to find our talent and do our life's work with joy. Nothing is impossible.
The hour or so at the Center is not for sissies. There are boxes of Kleenex scattered about. You will get touched in places in your heart and soul that perhaps you were trying to forget about. You will be inspired by great stories and song. You will be encouraged to face your authentic self and for many, that is a scary place to go. No one at the Center judges or stuffs this philosophy down your throat; it's just there for the taking. If you are open you will see that God is everywhere, there for all and doesn’t discriminate. You are empowered through prayer, meditation, and that Universal Love superhighway. Ask and you shall receive.
There's magic in Vegas and it's not just on the Strip.

Provided by YP.comIt's hard for me to put the place, its work and people into words. And since I'm a writer that's saying something. Let me just say this - go. Just go.
