Provided by YP.comMy pomeranian was bitten by a rattlesnake, which was incredibly frightening for her and I. Most animal hospitals don't carry anti venom or aren't capable of dealing with that, but I knew I could go here to get treatment. Luckily I brought her in quickly enough, the docs said I saved her life by doing that. But her and I both it was the doctors and technicians that saved my loved one.
I will never go anywhere else.

Provided by YP.comIt's been several years since I went here, but I took my dog for physical therapy because he couldn't walk (as a puppy - long story). I know I had an initial visit with a vet, but I don't remember who or anything notable about the visit, good or bad. What was GREAT was the staff in the rehab center. I worked with Shannon and Maria, and they are so great.
The visits aren't cheap, but neither is the equipment they use and the time they spend healing your animal. I'm about to go back for another round, since his health has deteriorated, so I'll post an update if there's anything new to report.

Provided by YP.comI'm guessing that this is the most expensive vet in the country, which if I was Paris Hilton it would be OK. I love animals but when I take away my grand-daughter's college fund to pay for an operation that wasn't budgeted for that amount. This just isn't right.

Provided by YP.comFirst of all this place is very expensive; but that is not my complaint I was willing to pay for the best care. The physician that I used told me that my 5 year old Rottweiler needed two ACL procedures. I agreed to do the first one then the other after he recovers from the initial surgery. My complaint is that this first needed surgery was charged at very close to $3400 dollars again fine I want my kid better!
Three days after surgery my baby has terrible diarrhea, but seems fine otherwise. I am told that it is probably the meds given for pain this guy always had a sensitive stomach! My dog seemed to get more ill by the day! I wanted a second opinion that differed from my regular vet so I visited a nearby and expensive Hospital that I have used in the past. The Vet there changed his diet and gave him medicine to help with his diarrhea. She thought that perhaps all the stress of the surgery was a contributing cause for the bad stomach and lack of natural probiotics. It was not! He got worst over eight days and would only eat a little fresh cooked meat now!
I took him to my regular vet and his first impression was perhaps that my dog had some kind of terrible infection. He did blood work and his white blood cell count was sky high. He treated him with aggressive antibiotics and other drugs to help his stomach problems. He checked my dog’s blood again six days later. His white cell count was off the charts high! It turns out that my baby has full blown leukemia and is very ill losing 15 pounds in two weeks and will not eat. We were heartbroken; but we had to give him the gift of love and put him out of his misery. He only lasted six weeks from the time he had surgery to the time he passed on!
I do not blame the Referral Center for the cancer it’s not their fault! I blame them because they charged me $3400 for a procedure and didn’t even do blood work before the surgery. This blood work has always been done by my regular Vet for minor surgeries in the past! I wasn’t cutting costs and opting to not do blood work it just wasn’t discussed. I assumed for that price that I was getting the best care possible! I spent $1400 more after the ACL surgery trying to help my dog. This was all so unnecessary!
My little kid would have not had to go through the trauma of this surgery if this Vet would have dotted all his I’s and crossed his T’s. I’m sure my dog would have eventually died but it wouldn’t have cost me five grand to watch him go in just six weeks!
My guy is dead, but has a wonderfully repaired knee! That’s what I got for my trouble.
People make sure your Vet does everything! Take your estimate to your veterinary for advice if you have questions! You will not understand every line charge and procedure needed!
R.I.P. Sweet Boy!
I asked the Referral center for a return call I’m still waiting? I just want to ask the Physician why he decided to cut a $150 dollar corner. Maybe he could have used my money a better and more honest way! Thanks for nothing!
You all decide for yourself if you like this place this is just what happened to me!

Provided by YP.comI have to say that after reading the reviews I was a little nervous about taking my Abbie here. I also thought it was strange that a number of glowing reviews were posted on the same day. While the Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center was quite expensive, I am absolutely pleased with the service that was provided. I was referred her by my regular vet. The reception staff was friendly to me and other patrons that came in while I was there. Each time a new appt came in the reception came around front to greet the animals and pet them. You can tell they are real animal lovers. My appointment was with Dr Horstman and he was also very good with my dog. Abbie is a very timid lab. She does not like strange places or situations and she's very wary of new people. Dr. Horseman was very gentle and nice with her and won her over after a few minutes. He clearly presented me with all of the options for Abbie's treatment, and clearly explained all instructions I was to follow. Ultimately I am willing to pay more and drive farther to ensure my pet is taken care of. So far I am very happy with Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center.

Provided by YP.comPlease do not listen to what the others have said. I'm honestly confused about the bad reviews. The service and staff were both excellent and my family and I were consulted in a quick and friendly matter. Our puppy made a full recovery and I truly believe it was the fine work of the staff that kept him with us. I'll be back for any other vet needs and would highly recommend them. Thanks again, staff.

Provided by YP.comMy Lab was attacked by two Pitbulls and severely injured with bites to the neck and legs. With the help of LVVRC my beloved family pet was able to recover fully. They are truly passionate about helping you and your animal through the tough time. Thanks a million LVVRC!!

Provided by YP.comI don't know what I would do without them. Any time my cat P$ has a problem (he has bladder issues), they know exactly how to fix the issue. They are inexpensive, quick, and to the point. There are no hidden costs and nothing that I need to worry about. Their #1 concern is my animal and for that I am grateful. Thank you LVV Referral Center!

Provided by YP.comMy dog had cancer and I brought him to the Referral Center. They prolonged his life for several months and took amazing care of him. Ill never forget those last few months and what Dr. Vaughan did for my us and how compassionate he was. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. A true miracle of modern science. Thank you!!!!!

Provided by YP.comWhile I am sure that this place has fine doctors, I would not recommend it for ophthalmolgy services. We took our baby in with cataracts and found out she had no sight in one eye and a cataract in the other. We followed the doctors suggestions to agressively treat and preserve her exisitng sight, but within a week she went from being able to see to being completely blind. After a week in the hospital we took her to another ophthalmogist who examined her. He took her in for immediate surgery to perform a graph which saved her eye but too much damage had been done by the previous doctor to restore her sight. I do not recommend Dr. Weinstein and would steer clear away from this facility for ophthalmology services.

Provided by YP.comThe patient care is horrible! I know some one who used to work there and the things that they told me shocked me! I would not trust them with any animals.
The Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center has thousands of very satisfied clients who have sent photos, letters and cards thanking our doctors and staff for the wonderful care they provide each and every day. Here is just one example... Jeani A. Was in town for 2 weeks and our 'baby girl' dog who was on steroids when we arrived in town had gotten progressively worse. Came to the Veterinary Referral Center for a better diagnosis than what our Vet at home had said, and hoping for some pain relief. The staff was tremendously helpful, friendly and professional at all times. They contacted our Dr in So Cal for the records as soon as we arrived. Dr Horstman was compassionate, easy to talk to, very communicative and we felt we were taken very good care of. The testing that was done was immediate and although we have to wait a few days for the results they did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and answer all questions. We never felt rushed or like they had to move on to the next patient. We were provided with a CD of her XRays to take with us and did everything they could to take care of us. I was tremendously impressed with this facility and can only hope that we can duplicate the service when we take our baby back home!
