Provided by YP.comI wish there were no stars ! I would never take anything living person here if you want them to survive! Lazy nurses talking about lunch time with 10 moaning patients!!!!! They are more then happy to kick you out when you tell them the truth on a slow night!

Provided by YP.comHorrible experience & dirty. We had to wait 6 hour till we saw the dr.. We brought our 7 month old son there because he was having an allergic reaction, he was very lethargic & had blue lips. Two "nurses" tried to draw blood, install a catheter, & get an I.v. They missed four times & were basically laying on him to make him stay still. He was very dehydrated so the catheter didn't work. They finally brought over a nurse from the nic-u who was nice enough to say that we shouldn't even be here that we should've went to a children's hospital. Oh, I'm sorry next time my son has troubled breathing & projectile vomiting I'll make sure to take the time to look up a children's dr. instead of going to the nearest hospital. We had two random shoes & a half of a soda on the floor in the room they put us in. When they were drawing his blood the nurse held up his needle & squeezed it so some of his blood landed on the floor which no one cleaned up. This place is very dirty, they don't give a shit!

Provided by YP.comI Don't recommend going here. I went to be seen at this hospital I was left waiting for 2 hours once I was seen the nurse ended up messing up my IV that ended up leaving a bruise half the size of my forearm then proceeded to mock and make fun of me because I told her it was hurting and an IV has never hurt that much before and that I think she might have done something wrong after I said that to her she became very short and rude to me. Then discharge took another 2hrs

Provided by YP.comIf you can go to another hospital, such as St Rose, go there first. The building is beautiful, open-plan, spacious, architecture is very nice. I stayed there one night and was not pleased at all but for one nurse whose name I regrettably did not get. I do however, have the name of the doctor who saw me there, told me I "broke my toes" and could bear weight on my foot, and didn't give me crutches until my brother suggested we break the bones in His feet and see if he can bear weight on it. This doctor was rude, short with me, unwilling to answer my questions and either didn't know how to read an x-ray, didn't pass anatomy in the school he went to, or didn't bother reading the radiologist's report which stated I had THREE broken bones in my foot, specifically my number 2, 3, and 4 tarsals which even I know are NOT toes but the main, longest bones in a foot. Every medical professional with whom I've recieved care or therapy (p.t. or o.t.) have told me NOT to put any weight at all on my foot, it should be in a hard cast and to see an orthopedic surgeon A.S.A.P. the doctor's name is Muhammad Sabir. Steer clear of him, especially if you're a woman. I am sending a complaint to the hospital liason and hospital administrator as well. I hope if you end up at Spring Valley you'll have a better experience than I did. Also - the nurses and aides who were in and out of my room all day and night wouldn't stop long enough to give me even a sip of water (although they all had time to tell me I had a UTI and I need to drink more water! it was across the room, out of my reach!) only one nurse did, and only the one (same) nurse was attentive to the extreme pain in my broken foot. The others need to be a patient in their own hospital to see what it's like to not be ambulatory, to have to use the restroom, to be dehydrated and thristy with a water cup just out of reach, and to be in pain for hours and hours with no relief and no one telling you when relief was coming. It was the worst hospital stay of my life. I am a CNA and have a lot of experience with patient care, these people need a lesson in humanity and compassion - unfortunately those are things you can't teach a person....I almost forgot!!!! The Emergency Room doctor and other personell were fantastic, thanks guys! And the X-Ray technician and CT scan people. I was on the second floor (cardiology) where i had my bad experiences at this hospital. I gave it two stars because the E.R. and radiology dept. were awesome otherwise I wouldn't have given even one star.

Provided by YP.comI had an out patient surgery here and I had a most pleasant experience. My Dr is wonderful and the anestesiologist was also very comforting. The Outpatient nurse was very welcoming and the recovery nurse even made me smile with her humor!
I am going to be going in for another surgery and hope it is the same pleasant place I remember from earlier this month!

Provided by YP.comI don't recomend this place at all!! NOT FOR BABIES!, i pay almost $400 dollars, for them to give me the wrong diagnostic, and the sad part was that the dr. didn't took the time to see what was wrong with my baby, i waited four hours at the emergency room for nothing, and dr. Timothy VanDuzer, said that i gave him actitute cuz i though he forgot about us, well my baby couldn't eat for days, she had blisters all her mouth and he took forever to bring the medice for her!! and the next day her dr. told me no she has not ear infeccion or anything that he said!!! my baby keep crying and criying, that was so wrong!!

Provided by YP.comnever go here. I had a friend who I brought in due to location near his home. All the days to go Super Bowl night 2012. We went in the back after fifteen minutes of waiting only to find all staff including doctors standing around the tv watching the game. Took three hours in the waiting room to see a quick doctor who was catching up due to the fact they were watching tv rathering then helping those in need of help. To find a place where a game is more important than health. Same on this Spring Valley Hospital and the heartless staff.

Provided by YP.comThe nursing staff are hit or miss... We had some good nurses, some bad. Most of them are not timely and my dad had a 102 degree fever for hours after his stroke before the nurses caught it. (the kids had been cooling him off with a washcloth until then). The nursing staff were a bunch of yahoos, joking around, laughing shouting, and singing happy birthday to a fellow coworker with no regard for the sick and the dying right next to them. Our so called ICU Doctor was too busy scheduling his next Land Rover destination than communicating with us or trying harder to help papa. All he could say was the prognosis didn't look good. Big thumbs down to the ICU in this place.

Provided by YP.comThe pre surgical nurses were great. But the floor nurses didn't even know I was there and argued with me over whether I had had breakfast. They said I wasn't on any of their lists of patience's. A friend came to visit me and she couldn't find me through the normal channels. She just remembered what floor I said I would be on and searched room to room until she found me. The night nurses 3 times came in to do blood work and other procedures. It turned out each time that it was for another patient. When I checked out they had not given me my med's and gave me prescriptions for someone else.
