Provided by YP.comWhenever I hear the words "St. Rose San Martin", my heart drops. I cannot express my hate for this hospital. My grandfather was 79 years of age and needed to be well taken care of, and this hospital DID NOT provide him with proper care. He had some sort of stomach procedure take place the day before he passed away. With his age and excessive health risks, it is obvious that he should have been taken to ICU (Intensive Care Unit) following the conclusion of his procedure. Instead, they put him in a regular room where he was not taken care of all. When I say the nurses are cruel, I TRULY mean it. The day my grandfather passed away, he was being taken care of by a mid-aged woman who went by the name "Lona". From the moment I met her, I knew she was evil. She showed no compassion whatsoever. After my grandmother and I departed the room from where my grandfathers corpse lay, she laughed at us. Most nurses would comfort their patients families, and she had a smirk on her face and didn't say one word to us. Earlier on I the day, I asked her to come check up on my grandfather because he didn't look too well. She responded "Sorry. I have other paperwork to be doing." My response was ," I don't care about your paperwork. My main interest is my grandpa." She never ended up coming to the room, which was why we were left in this awful predicament. I would never, ever recommend sending an elder person to this hospital because they may never return home.

- The San Martín Campus was named in honor of St. Martín de Porres, a personal friend and counselor to Rose de Lima in the 1600s. His father was Don Juan de Porres, a Spanish Knight, and his mother was Anna Velasquez, a freed woman from Panama of African descent. As a Dominican brother, Martín was known for his ability to provide physical and spiritual care to the sick and poor, including slaves. St. Martín maintained an animal hospital and established an orphanage and hospital for poor children.
