Provided by YP.comHaving read & being concerned ab some of the bad reviews - we did board our 45lb, lab/collie, 1 1/2 yr old here for a wk. This was his 1st time ever boarded (& significantly, coming from where he's treated as much a child as the children: loved, coddled, w/ us 24/7, always underfoot - going to the austerity of boarding w/o his family). OF COURSE he was stressed!
I felt we had a relatively good experience & wanted to post; also, note that the really bad reviews are older (some being very old).
I compared Animal Inn directly to my vet & LV Dog Resort & found:
Animal Inn:
- $20/day, with wkly rate $126
- Most rm w/ a 4x15 run, cooled indoor/misted outdoor space separated by doggie door, mid-high block wall runs length between runs, chain link fence from block wall up, chain link locking gate on inside (& outside?), food/water kept in inside area; well ventilated, cleaned 2x/day (I watched them hosing 1 out & smelled the bleach). I did a pop-in visit/tour & did not see soiled runs. Large grassy area on side of bldg, divided into 2 sections, well maintained. Dogs are not combined = not socialized = limiting exposure to each other, disease.
- Friendly staff from my first call for basic info thru pick they were very friendly, accommodating. They handled the front desk appropriately, had no problem letting me tour the runs, were very attentive to the dogs barking at us, handled the separation of me & my pet well, suggested I call if I wanted to chk in, suggested that my emergency contact could visit & play in grassy area w/ him at any time (standard policy), gave me a full update on his experience & suggestions for making it better if I boarded w/ them again.
Vet:
- $24/day, w/o wkly rate
- Least rm w/ a 4x8 run, entirely indoors, totally enclosed: solid side walls, solid back wall, chain link gate with solid wood covering most of it, felt & seemed claustrophobic to me & for the dogs - had to go on tiptoe to peer over door to see in and they couldn't see out (to see what was going on around them); barely enough room for food/water dishes, or for dog to turn around in - any jumping would result in spilled food/water, with little room left over to curl up in. Whole back area in general was very warm, and no ventilation (or not enough) - so was stinky & hot to me, let alone those w/ fur coats! Dogs taken for a 'walk' in back of building to an open area off parking lot, rocky and barren, & unfenced.
- That being said, I've never had a problem boarding my long haired Chihuahua there in 9 yrs in a kennel - smaller dog needs/likes less space; but felt my larger dog needed more.
LV Dog Resort:
- $50-$60/day
- No individual run, but penned together in "indoor play park with large screen TVs" based on dog size throughout the day then put into various sized private rooms with a fancy bed and color tv, including "chandelier lighting, custom paint/trim, movie of the day, toys with decorative art"! On tour was invited to see where they 'walk' the dogs to go potty, their "outdoor play park with plush Astroturf" was a chain link fenced area in back which absolutely REEKED (overwhelmingly so) & had not been pooper scooped any time recently as there were numerous piles sitting around. Dogs are penned, so very much socialized & in each other's space whether they liked it or not. Dreaded thinking of them being walked or let loose in that back area & walking in other's pee and poo; or if one had an accident in pen area that wasn't cleaned up immediately!
SUMMARY:
I would definitely board him again here. You get way more for what you pay & are not paying for superfluous excesses. Paula & Danielle were awesome.

I asked the girl who was "checking in" my dogs if she needed to see the vaccinations and she said no, they already have the information. WHAT?! How could they have it when they don't know who my dog's veterinarian is?? They couldn't have "looked" it up since they didn't have my name spelled correctly. It was only reassuring to me that I knew that my dogs weren't going to catch anything from this place since they were all up to date with their shots. I am very skeptical that they even took my dogs out for play time which I requested and paid for because one of my dogs is white and her nails and paws showed no signs of "outside" dirt. All 3 dogs even smelled the same as when I left them. Any Vegas dog owner knows how their dog smells after being outside. Definitely will not bring them back! P.S. The girls don't seem like genuine animal lovers...their demeanor seems almost like its rehearsed.

i worked there for yrs about 3 yrs.the cats are kept in a differant area.it is not silent.but it is alot quieter than vet clinic or being left alone.they take good care of your pet.you should know that you can relax when your pets are watched by them.they are safe and secure.i give you my word..tanya van lew

We went to visit before hand..nothing what the website offers for a cat environment..dogs are barking and the cages are not condos..a condo consists of a cage open to the next cage..I saw nothing personal about boarding here..reminded me of going into a help shelter for aminals. Do not believe everything you see on line..see for yourself first.
