Provided by YP.comWe have just had a very painful experience with this company. Despite all their promises, we ended up with much higher costs that we should pay because of the hidden charges, assembling the furniture by ourselves, damaged furniture and floors and very poor customer service.
When we talked to the office to make the moving estimations, they didn’t mention anything for the fuel surcharges and the ‘material costs’. We didn’t have much furniture – 3 bedrooms barely furniture. We already prepared and moved most of our boxes by ourselves, so the moving estimation was about $400-$500. We were promised ‘care-free’, ‘full-service’ moving. In reality, it was just the opposite.
When the driver arrived early Saturday morning, he declared that there was a 22% fuel surcharge, based on the total work hours, not on the driving distance at all (the driving to the new home was local, only 40 min). He said that it’s our choice to accept this condition or not to move at all. We had no choice! There was no way to find the alternative solution Saturday morning, and we had to move immediately! That was the first blow.
When they took out the vanity chest, dropped it again, drugged on the floor and broke one drawer that was not repairable. Lastly, they tried to get the armor in the bedroom and broke the laminate floor that was at the bedroom entry. When I was inspected the damage, they only laughed at me, telling me that this is just one broken piece and it was broken by the wheel of my furniture. So, they said ‘it was your fault because your furniture broke it’.
They were 30 min late than their original estimations, the rest of the furniture was not assembled at all, the floor, sofa and vanity chest were damaged. On top of it, they charged the fuel charge based on the total hours they spent for moving and about $60 for the ‘materials - type’ that the sales never mentioned before.
I was in tears. I paid $965 for extremely poor customer service and damaged property.

Provided by YP.comI just had the the unpleasant experience of dealing with these (bowel) movers. They quoted me $750 for the move then hit me with a $1000 bill at delivery at which time they conveniently added a ton of fees (including $40 for tape and a couple hundred dollars for gas??) When I disputed the charges they refused to unload the truck until I paid. "If you don't pay now, we'll just take your stuff", they said. I would have paid the $1000 if it was disclosed upfront but the whole bait and switch and tacking on fees at the end was dishonest and disheartening. Beware of these guys. Better yet, don't use them.

Provided by YP.comThis was the worst services and most disrespectful business I have ever worked with. They quoted me one price and charged another. Then when I called to inquire what the additional charges were they told me that is the cost and don't call back their phone. All of their business is done in cash and they threaten to take your possessions to storage if you don't pay. They also ask you to sign blank paperwork. DO NOT SIGN! NEVER USE THEM!

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT FOR THIS COMPANY!!!!
FIRST I was quoted for $90 an hour, which is the rate of two men when the "son" promised to send out three men. He calls me moving day at 5 in the morning to tell me that although scheduled for noon, the men would be coming at 8 to move my stuff and because of my apartment, he'd be charging me the full price. This being moving day what choice did I have?
The movers show up at 7 am, and while I was surprised, I was still okay. The movers seemed polite but while moving things from my bedroom (I am a 20 year old girl) one of the movers yelled out asking about a picture I had in my room, making comments about one of my girl friends physical appearances, which was not appreciated.
I did not have a lot of things that needed to be moved, so it did not take a long time for the truck to be packed, maybe an hour at most. They followed me to my parents home, where I was moving into. As they unloaded, a mover pulled me aside and told me if I did not pay the $398, they would not continue to bring my things in. So I gave him the cash, as well as $100 tip making my total FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for two and a half hours and two miles of driving from my apartment to my parents. After they finished, I was in my bedroom and a mover told me they were done and I needed to sign them out. He did not give me any opportunity to look, only stating that I was signing the time they finished. I noticed a few days later that my television was missing.
I called and spoke with an employee, told her my tv was missing and she took my name and number and assured me someone would call back right away.
A few days later, I heard nothing back.
I called again and spoke to someone new, told him the same deal. He placed me on a hold, after five minutes he comes back on the line and asks why I am calling back now and not earlier. I told him the situation again, and he placed me back on hold for another 25 minutes. He never came back, the line went dead.
I called back, he answered. He told me that he spoke with the driver and lost and found and they knew nothing of my TV. I asked what can be done about this and he said nothing, how can he believe someone calling so much later and whats done is done. He said I signed the paperwork stating that I went inside the truck and inspected it to be sure I had all my belongings. I told him the mover never told me that was an option to which he replied, "C'mon Sarah, you're a smart girl read the fine print"
I had enough of his accusing, demeaning tone, so after one more attempt at asking what can be done, I ended the call.
I am so disgusted and insulted with this company. DO NOT HIRE FATHER AND SON MOVING!!!!! They will take advantage of you in any way they can.

Provided by YP.comWe hired Father and Son Movers in Fort Lauderdale for a local move from an apartment to a house. I was beyond impressed with their level of commitment and dedication to getting the job done. They handled our boxes and furniture with the utmost care. It's not an easy job and the heat doesn't help, but they were positive and never complained. I will definitely use them again and refer everyone I know. Lamont and Joallen did a great job, thank you!
