As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem and curiosity, our Creative Curriculum program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that young children learn best through hands-on experiences. Each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, trust their new environment, as well as make new friends. Your Toddler's Day State Line Children's World toddler curriculum enables your toddler to grow in confidence and learn to master walking tall in his or her new world. The Toddler teachers wear many hats, such as a comforter, storyteller, diaper changer and playmate. From first steps to first words, your toddler will begin to experience the world in new ways at State Line Children's World. Once they master walking, their gross motor skills will grow by leaps and bounds. They learn to jump, tip toe, march, throw and kick a ball, just to name a few. Your toddlers will learn to enjoy storytelling time. We will introduce small books for their little hands to turn the pages with a lot of textures and bright colors, which they can feel. Toddlers will have the opportunity to go outside and play with age appropriate outdoor activities every day. We have outdoor sheltered walkways to provide shade from the heat and inclement weather. The approach our teachers use engages the two year old with a blend of music, art, movement, dramatic play, science and manipulatives. All of these will provide the early education fundamentals your child will need as they continue on to preschool. Our teachers are sensitive to the needs of children at different ages and pay close attention to the individual capabilities and interests of the children as they explore gross motor skills such as: jumping, climbing, and balancing, throwing and catching. We will provide monthly curriculum schedules to our parents with the understanding that each day may require certain flexibility to meet the needs of each child. State Line Children's World Five Star Center In September 2000, the Division of Child Development issued star rated licenses to all eligible child care centers. Facilities can receive one to five stars. Accordingly, State Line Children's World began implementing new structure standards and curriculums. Encouraged staff to go back to college and obtain a higher level of education in early childhood. Because of our rigorous preparation in 2006 State Line Children's World chose to voluntarily apply for the advanced licensure through DCD. In December 2006, State Line Children's World obtained five stars, which is the highest rated license issued by DCD. This process included a consultative visit from the Division of Child Development who evaluates State Line Children's World with three quality components: Staff Education, Program Standards and Compliance History. Our license and high reflecting our award-winning service are displayed in each of our classrooms. The star rated license acts as a roadmap for our center to follow as we seek to provide continued quality enrichment and individual care for each of our students. State Line Children's World Earns National Accreditation State Line Children's World earned accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in May 2006. State Line Children's World was among the first in the nation to complete the new accreditation process. To earn NAEYC Accreditation in the new system, State Line Children's World went through an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten new NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards (relationships, curriculum, teaching, assessment of child progress, health, teachers, families, community relationships, physical environment and leadership and management) and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. The program received NAEYC Accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure that the program meets each of the NAE YC program standards.
