Provided by YP.comOceangetaway seems to be angry at the world. The office of this motel does not smell of smoke nor does the pool area.
The rooms are spotless and the staff is wonderful. And the Manager Anne Marie greets all her guests and goes out of her way to help them. Anne Marie took it upon her self to run to drug store for me when I mentioned that we needed some aloe for my granddaughters sunburn. Anne Marie rude, nasty, I don't think so. Couldn't be a nicer more helpful person.
Would I recommend this motel..........Yes I would.........
Nicest motel at the shore.

Provided by YP.comThe photo on the website is a misrepresentation of the motels size...the pool is small, small small...and NOT heated as the website and sign on RT. 35 proclaim. When we asked about the pool being heated, the front desk guy said, "it's 70--that's heated".
The reception area is filled with smoke--we were nervous that our room would smell the same smokey, musty way...YUCK!
The manager (?) Ann Marie was rude, rude, rude! Taking the Jersey attittude just a bit too far! The staff were constantly standing outside in front of the reception door smoking--so, if you're a non-smoker looking to relax at the pool--go to the beach!
Hotels are limited (2) in Lavallette-- and this has a lot going for it (clean rooms, good location), but the staff gives a bad impression and lessens experience!
The Lamplight Motel takes pride in our Motel's cleanliness. Yes we do have designated smoking areas, but all of our rooms are smoke free. We do not claim to have a large pool and yes it is heated to 78 degrees. At times the temperature may drop (especially first thing in the morning). When the temperature goes down the heater starts up. It does take some time to reach 78 again. We are a family run establishment and all our staff members have been here for many years. We take pride in our motel, and our guests return year after year.

Provided by YP.comThe Last review was just plain wrong.
Obviously, if they were told to send in a deposit, and they didn't, what did they expect? Motel space is limited in Lavallette, and they are not going to hold a room, with the hope that you will show in good faith.
I stay at the Lamplight every year, and I send them my deposit when asked for it. The motel is new and clean and
the staff is just wonderful.
They have the same staff for years, and everyone knows you by your first name. Your not just a reservation. They are
there at all times to help you with any request you may have to make your stay wonderful.
The Last person was wrong by not sending their deposit, and needs someone to blame besides themselves.
