Southwest Junior High School, located in Lawrence, Kan., offers educational programs to more than 600 students in grades seven through nine. Its curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, mathematics, physical education, electives, and language, performing and fine arts. The school s subjects also include foreign languages, social studies and health education. It has a library and various clubs that include science, chess, international and math clubs. The school provides a variety of extracurricular activities that include dance, drama, the National Honor Society, a student council and yearbook. The sports activities offered by the school include softball, tennis, golf, cross country, soccer, football, volleyball and wrestling. The school is a part of the Lawrence Public Schools.
