Division of Public Health, governed under the Georgia Department of Human Resources, provides a wide range of health care services to communities in Georgia. Its adolescent health and youth development program provides abstinence-only education outreach activities, offers comprehensive adolescent health services, and provides male involvement programs, aimed at promoting responsible, healthy lifestyle behaviors and abstinence. The division s Cancer Control Section provides funds, as well as administrative and technical support for diagnosis and treatment of medically indigent cancer patients, central collection and analysis of cancer incidence data, and screening for cervical and breast cancer. Its children medical service program directly provides and coordinates specialty medical evaluations and treatment for children with chronic medical conditions. Division of Public Health is based in Lawrenceville, Ga.
