They promised a forever home for many animals sent there. Sadly, that is not true. Swanson Acres gave away so many animals without checking references to the first person that asked. Some were "adopted" out to homes that kept the senior pets outside on chains as guard dogs. Others ended up at local kill shelters. Many animals especially cats, did not receive proper vet care. I visited and saw many animals in need of medical attention and asked the manager what was going on and she said they will be ok. Not. They called themselves a "sanctuary". Far from it. They should NEVER be able to care for pets again. FYI, the people running the place left but kept their non profit status so beware and DO NOT let Kris or Anita get their hands on your pets.

Swanson Acres had my dog, Sadie. They adopted her to an employee. Swanson Acres has since closed. I would appreciate if someone would call me and let me know Sadie is ok. Thank you Deb H. 712-370-0990

Kris treats every animal there like a family member. He's those animals guardian angel. He cares for some sick little ones
