Dr. Michael Gliddon is a native of Plymouth, England who emigrated to the United States with his family at age ten. His first few years in the United States were spent moving around with his family to several different places before settling in Boca Raton, Florida. After Graduating from high school at age seventeen he immediately joined the United States Air Force and served on active duty during operation Desert Storm. Also during this time he met his wife Terry. He was honorable discharged in 1991. They currently have two children together, Miranda and Mitchell. Dr. Gliddon returned to school in 1992 attending San Antonio College and in 1994 started dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. He accepted a scholarship through the United States Army and after graduation once again went on Active Duty. His first assignment was to attend a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Baumholder, Germany, followed shortly by attending an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency through the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. After completion of training he was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and quickly deployed from there during Operation Iraqi Freedom, completing a tour in Mosul, Iraq. He completed his military obligation in 2008 by teaching in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston. Besides his love of oral and maxillofacial surgery and helping people, Dr. Gliddon enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys a variety of reading and running in his spare time.
