Provided by YPmobileI will NOT be taking my child back to this office. This office was the closest pediatric dentist to where I live, which is about 45 minutes away, thus was our only option unless we wanted to travel to Ft. Worth. The initial consultation was fine, but the care my child received, as well as the bedside manner of some of the staff, was subpar. At our first appointment, my son's procedure lasted approximately fifteen minutes, in which he came out crying, his face swollen, and deep marks on his face from the mask. I swore then that I wouldn't take him back. Three months later, his regular dentist tells me that there was other dental work that was referred to Dr. Wells' office that was documented, but they never completed. Against better judgment, I returned to this office for the rest of his treatment. I voiced my concerns about the last appointment, at which they told me that I should try and schedule an appointment that wasn't so close to five o'clock to keep from being rushed. We arrived at our appointed time, and my son went back for his procedure, which lasted about 45 minutes. The receptionist called for me to go to the consultation room to speak with the lead nurse regarding his procedure. I was told that my son refused to sit still, and that "Dr. C." Tried three times to perform the work, but each time my son "wiggled and became vocal," thus the procedure could not be performed. When I asked why I was not notified so that I could be called back to sit with him, I was told that, "the nurse he had was new" and she didn't know. When I pressed further, I was told that, "because it is an open-bay treatment area, we cannot allow parents back there." I was also told that we would have to make another trip for my child to be sedated to perform the rest of the work. When I said no, that I wanted them to attempt one more time, the nurse said that she would ask the doctor, turned, and slammed the door. She returned and said that they would go ahead and make one more attempt. Fifteen minutes later, my child was done with his procedure. He came out teary-eyed and numb, but at least not bawling like the other children I saw leave this office. In my opinion, which is what this review board is for, this office runs children through like cattle, without regard to their patients or their parents. While their website states that parents may, "if they choose," go back with their child, their office staff is either misinformed, ignorant, or lacks the general courtesy to think about a scared and hurting child needing the comfort of their loved one. I will not waste any more time, gas, money, or my child's tears on this practice.
We are sorry you had a negative experience with our office. We would love to speak with you and resolve any issue. Please call our office at 580-248-8418, thank you.
