Several months ago my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness and the only thing to do, was to bring him home.
Although we live in a subdivision of houses, our mailboxes are at the top of our street.
I have lived in this home since August 1st, 1992, so I thought that the postal carrier was familiar with my name.
My husband could not be left alone at any time. Since it was just the two of us, the mailbox would get so full at times that the carrier would take all of it back to the post office.
He ALWAYS left a notice stating what happened and when I could get the mail from the post office.
After several of these occurrences, my husband's Physician filled out a formal request form (provided by the post office) explaining why the mail needed to be delivered to our home.
All we asked, was to please bring the mail to our house if the mailbox was getting full, so the carrier wouldn't take it back.
We live 5 houses away and since the mail carrier has to drive over to the next street, he could've easily stopped by on his way over there.
My husband passed away and since then, I've been a wreck and become a recluse.
Went to check my mailbox last week, found it empty, no note from the carrier.
Went to the post office. Was told none of my mail was there; that I needed to speak to my "carrier," but he wasn't in. Was informed that all my mail was probably sent back!!
I was shocked!!!
I am not a young person. I live in my home alone and my neighbors are used to not seeing me for weeks, especially in the winter time.
I cannot believe that the carrier didn't stop by the house to check if everything was ok. Ring the doorbell, or at least stick a note on my door.
Or, call police to stop by for a wellcheck. I know times have changed, but this is frightening!
I could've been injured or dead and nobody would've noticed for weeks!
In this ever faster moving world, nobody has time to care!!!
I still don't know where my mail is!
Happy Holidays

When my husband and I went to ...

When my husband and I went to go pick up our package the other day the customer service we received was friendly and polite. However upon returning home and opening our package we noticed that our package was damaged and pieces where all over in the box. When contacting the post office they said we could not make a claim and have anything done about it due to they could NOT do anything about it. Would not recommend this office to anyone for delivery packages. Thus is the reason why I rated them a one star and believe that there motto must be as long as the packages don't have insurance on them handle them how ever you seem fit it does not matter how the customer feels.when they receive their packages. Totally upset that I am unable to enjoy my item that was shipped and will have to ship it to get repaired.
